everest-jake-gyllenhaal-has-a-snowbeard-in-new-pictures

An ensemble cast and phenomenal special effects are pulling the weight behind climbing adventure Everest. The impressive first trailer has just been released. The preview shows off some seriously epic mountainside action set pieces.

Icelandic director Baltasar Kormakur (2 Guns, Contraband) commands the cast of Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men, Guardians of the Galaxy), Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Lawless), Keira Knightley (The Imitation Game, Pirates of the Caribbean), Robin Wright (Forrest Gump, The Congress), John Hawkes (Winter’s Bone, The Sessions), Emily Watson (War Horse, The Theory of Everything), Sam Worthington (Avatar, The Debt), Elizbeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, The Man From UNCLE) and Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Zodiac, Donnie Darko).

The team behind Saving Private Ryan, The Terminal and Catch Me if You Can are reuniting for the Oscar tipped spy thriller Bridge of Spies. Steven Spielberg (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Schindler’s List, Lincoln, Jurassic Park) and Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Captain Phillips, Philadelphia, The Green Mile) are teaming up again and the film’s first poster has been released. The key players include writers Matt Charman (Suite Francaise) and The Coen Brothers (Fargo) and the cast of Mark Rylance (Wolf Hall, Intimacy), Amy Ryan (Birdman, Gone Boaby Gone) and Alan Alda (The Aviator, The Blacklist).

Bridge of Spies

New still from Bridge of Spies and first logo for Hunger Games 4

Films such as The Revenant (Alejandro Gonzalez Inarrity; Leonardo Di Caprio, Tom Hardy), Suffragette (Sarah Gavron; Meryl Streep, Carey Mulligan), Steve Jobs (Danny Boyle; Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet) and Snowden (Oliver Stone; Joseph Gordon Levitt, Shailene Woodley) are leading the Oscars 2016 race but Bridge of Spies is quickly gaining. The film’s director, Oscar winner Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Can, Minority Report, Lincoln), has now revealed the first still from the film. The cast includes Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Captain Phillips), Mark Rylance (Wolf Hall), Amy Ryan (Birdman, Gone Baby Gone) and Alan Alda (The Aviator).

The Hunger Games third instalment, Mockingjay Part 1, was a slip up from the superior Catching Fire but the final entry in the series, Mockingjay Part 2, should make amends. The first poster has been revealed.

Francis Lawrence (I am Legend) directs the cast of Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook), Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right), Woody Harrelson (True Detective), Liam Hemsworth (Cut Bank), Julianne Moore (Still Alice), Donald Sutherland (Ordinary People), Elizabeth Banks (The Lego Movie), Sam Claflin (The Riot Club), Jena Malone (Contact), Stanley Tucci (The Terminal), Toby Jones (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Jeffrey Wright (Source Code), Willow Shields (Beyond the Blackboard), Natalie Dormer (Rush), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Mahershala Ali (House of Cards) the late great and Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote, The Master, The Big Lebowski).

Spielberg’s thriller retitled, McKellen’s Holmes trailer and Jeff Goldblum returns to Independence Day

steven-spielberg-tom-hanks

Steven Spielberg’s (Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, Lincoln, Catch Me If You Can, Minority Report) new cold war thriller is not far from release. We’d previously assumed its title was going to be St James Place but its now reported that a change is in order. Bridge of Spies is what we’ll be referring to it as now. It’ll star Tom Hanks (The Green Mile, Forrest Gump, Cast Away), Amy Ryan (Birdman), Alan Alda (The Aviator) and Mark Rylance (Wolf Hall).

We’ve been worried for some time about the alarming lack of development on Roland Emmerich’s (White House Down) sequel to his sci-fi smash hit Independence Day. Will Smith and Bill Pullman’s presence is still unconfirmed but Jeff Goldlum (Jurassic Park, The Fly, The Grand Budapest Hotel) will return with the series newcomers Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games’ Gale) and Jessie Usher (When the Game Stands Tall), with the latter playing Smith’s son.

Following recent castings such as Robert Downey Jr, Johnny Lee Miller and Benedict Cumberbatch, Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, X-Men, Gods and Monsters) seems the perfect choice for an elderly Sherlock for Oscar winning Kinsey/Chicago writer Bill Condon. The intriguing first trailer has been released.
