Boyhood, Grand Budapest Hotel, Lego Movie, Mr Turner and Babadook triumph in New York Critic’s Awards

While Alejandro Gonzalez Innarritu’s black comedy Birdman led the way in the Indie Spirit Awards, a new leader has been tipped off as an Oscar front runner from the New York Critics’ Circle. The foremost winner was Boyhood, Richard Linklater’s film twelve years in the making charting a boy’s coming of age (the whole time played by newcomer actor Ellar Coltrane).
